Start slow, can't catch up on way to 3-1 loss to St. Louis

The Blackhawks' yearly home ice struggles continued last night as they came out flat against the Blues and failed to catch up, falling 3-1.  St. Louis took an early 2-0 lead in the first on goals by Paul Kariya on the power play and a wrist shot by Bryce Salvador.

The Hawks cut it to 2-1 on a controversial goal by Jason Williams that caused a 10-minute video review, but could get no closer as the Blues went on to win their fourth in a row. The Blackhawks have a plan this season: win at home, hopefully to the tune of 28 victories, according to coach Denis Savard. So far, no good.
