Panthers Steal Victory in Shootout

The Montreal Canadiens took first blood last night, scoring against Florida's Tomas Vokoun three minutes into the game, but the Panthers had the final say in a 2-1 win. A late third-quarter goal by Nathan Horton forced a shootout, and Vokoun denied the Canadiens another score, reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

After two Panthers came up empty in the shootout, Jozef Stumpel got around Montreal goalie Cristobal Huet for the winning goal. Florida improves to 3-3 after a game that the team "had no businesss winning," according to Mike Van Ryn. "It's an ugly win, but we'll take it."
