Celebrity | Charlie Sheen Charlie's Defense: Brooke's a Liar Sheen wants plea deal, but prosecutors aim for trial By Evann Gastaldo Posted Mar 12, 2010 9:57 AM CST Copied Actor Charlie Sheen with his wife Brooke Mueller arrive at the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards, file photo dated Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. (AP Photo/Kevork Djansezian) Charlie Sheen is ready to plead no contest to a misdemeanor and skip jail, but prosecutors think they have a strong enough felony case to go to trial—even without Brooke Mueller. Mueller wants the assault case to disappear so she doesn’t have to testify against her husband, sources tell TMZ—and the fact that she was under the influence during the Christmas incident is the biggest factor Sheen has going for him. His arraignment is set for Monday. “Charlie is going to contend that everything Brooke told police isn’t true—that she was out of her head, that she was so messed up she didn’t know what was going on,” a source tells Radar. Meanwhile, an unlikely ally is coming to Sheen’s defense. Former madam Heidi Fleiss—whom Sheen testified against in 1995—tells Radar her former client was not violent. “The truth is all my girls loved Charlie and I never heard any stories of him being violent towards them,” she says. “Several of them wanted to marry him actually.” Read These Next North Carolina shooting suspect once walked the red carpet.
