World | Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Ahmadinejad Calls 9/11 Attacks a 'Big Fabrication' He calls WTC destruction a 'complicated intelligence scenario' By John Johnson Posted Mar 6, 2010 1:12 PM CST Copied Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaks at the International Conference on National and Islamic Unification of Palestine Future in Tehran, Iran, Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010. (AP Photo/Vahid Salemi) Mahmoud Ahmadinejad maintains the Holocaust is fictional, and he apparently feels the same way about the official version of the 9/11 attacks. "The September 11 incident was a big fabrication as a pretext for the campaign against terrorism and a prelude for staging an invasion against Afghanistan," the Iranian president said today during a meeting with his intelligence ministry. Without elaborating, he also called the destruction of the World Trade Center a "complicated intelligence scenario and act," reports Reuters. Ahmadinejad has made statements of this nature in the past, but today's seem to go the furthest in buying into conspiracy theories. Fringe elements in the Middle East say American and Israeli intelligence operatives carried out the attacks, notes the New York Times.
