And as long as we need it, we should be getting as much as possible from our own land. "Building an energy-independent America will mean a real economic stimulus," argues the former Alaska governor. Environmentalists who oppose domestic drilling should consider that many of the countries we import from don’t have or don’t enforce environmental protection laws—laws US drilling operations would follow. “In effect, American environmentalists are preventing responsible development here at home while supporting irresponsible development overseas,” Palin writes for the National Review.
