Divorce papers seem to indicate the couple has lived apart for at least 2 years, but Jon’s lawyer said it’s really only been a week or two, the New York Daily News reports. The confusion stems from a legal technicality, TMZ adds. A source says Kate checked both boxes for a no-fault divorce—including the one requiring 2 years of living apart—to keep her options open in case Jon won’t agree the marriage is “irretrievably broken.” But at least one thing is certain: When the show returns, Jon’s girlfriend will be a part of it, a source says.
