One of two Iranian-American scholars jailed in Iran on charges of conspiring with the US government to foment revolution will be freed from prison today if bail is posted. Held in Teheran’s infamous Evin prison since May, Haleh Esfandiari will be released on a $333,000 bail, the AP reports.

The academic is the director of the Mideast program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars; last month she was forced to give interviews for Iranian television in which she said her job was to recruit Iranians for a "network" of speech-makers. The program juxtaposed her testimony with images of popular revolts.
