He also says Carrie has gotten encouragement from an even less likely source. “The gay and lesbian community has been supportive,” he said. “It’s just been overwhelming.”

“Everyone comes up to Carrie and says, ‘We may not agree with you, but we respect you for what you say,’” Prejean said. He also dismissed rumors that he's gay.
