Miami agrees on $2.75M for 37-year-old's final round

Alonzo Mourning will play his 15h and last NBA season next year, he announced after a charity game yesterday. The 37-year-old will make $2.75 million for his outro with the Heat, a team he thinks will make a strong bid for a 2008 championship. Mourning put up 8.6 PPG last year, with 4.5 boards and 2.31 blocks.

Zo says he's confident head coach Pat Riley will return as well, despite rumors he's mulling retirement. Meanwhile, prospect Mo Williams' decision not to sign with the Heat leaves the squad scrambling for an effective point guard. Speculation hangs that Miami is looking to sign free agent Steve Francis, following his buyout in Portland.
