Eye drops that promised relief are instead getting pulled from shelves—3.1 million bottles' worth, reports CBS News. KC Pharmaceuticals has recalled multiple lubricating eye drop products over what the FDA called "lack of assurance of sterility" in a notice dated March 3, reports NBC News. The drops were sold under several names, including Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops and Artificial Tears Sterile Lubricant Eye Drops, at major chains such as Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, H-E-B, and Harris Teeter. The FDA labeled it a Class II recall, a category for products that could cause temporary or reversible health issues, with serious outcomes considered unlikely. Eight brands are affected.
