Alec Baldwin says he and his brother are OK after a car crash in the Hamptons on Monday morning. In a video posted to Instagram, Baldwin alleged that he was driving with his brother, Stephen Baldwin, in his wife's car in East Hampton when a "garbage truck the size of a whale" forced him off the road. "To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree," he said, adding that the car was left "pretty smashed up" but that both he and his brother walked away unhurt. TMZ has photos of the Range Rover after it crashed head-first into a large tree. The outlet reports the company that owns the truck involved says its driver was not at fault.

Baldwin didn't offer any more details about the crash, and the East Hampton Police Department didn't respond to requests for comment. The Baldwins had been in town for the Hamptons International Film Festival over the weekend, NBC News reports. In his video, Baldwin thanked the East Hampton Police Department and singled out an officer who helped them after the crash. "That's all fine, and I'm fine, and my brother's fine," he said. Baldwin said he is now headed to Los Angeles to see his family.
