But what do her home state papers think of her? Not much, according to Greg Mitchell of the Huffington Post. The two top papers in the state both questioned the pick —and the Anchorage Daily News greeted the announcement with an update on Palin’s “troopergate” scandal. The Daily News also called Palin a “total beginner,” while a columnist at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner said that though he admires Palin, she’s ‘in no way” qualified. It’s not just journalists, either; state Republicans ripped the pick. Asked to name Palin’s qualifications, the Republican speaker of the House replied, “She’s old enough.
