If you're traveling, the tristate area around the Big Apple may be the last place you want to fly in and out of. The Wall Street Journal took a look at America's 20 biggest airports, as well as the 20 largest airports after that (what the Journal deems "medium-sized"), looking at such factors as convenience (which includes everything from WiFi speed to how much walking visitors need to do); reliability (e.g., arrival delays, canceled flights, and TSA wait times); and value, including average fares and parking costs. The New York area's three major airports all fell at the bottom of the rankings. "We know we have a very, very long way to go," says Rick Cotton, executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which is handling a $24 billion revamp at JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark airports. Here, the five best large airports and their corresponding airport codes:

 - Phoenix (PHX)
- Denver (DEN)
- Fort Lauderdale (FLL)
- Detroit Metro (DTW)
- Orlando (MCO)
 The five worst large airports:
