(AP Photo/Marcio Jose Sanchez, File) The casual observer checking out Elon Musk's Twitter feed Monday may not have sensed the shade he was throwing with his one short tweet proclaiming, "Stormy weather in Shortville…," but the Tesla CEO was actually crowing a bit at some news about his company's stock, as well as taunting short-sellers who hadn't had much faith in Tesla. Per Bloomberg, the share price Monday for the electric car-maker rose nearly 6%, leaving the company valued at $47.8 billion—a record for Tesla that left legacy rival Ford's valuation in the dust by about $3 billion, per various estimates. CNNMoney notes this now puts Tesla in the No. 2 spot behind GM, which currently claims a market value of $50.8 billion. A Robert W. Baird analyst who says he's not "an Elon Musk worshipper" notes the type of people who "normally buy a Porsche" are now scooping up Musk's cars instead.
