Senate Bigwigs: Russia Hack 'Should Alarm Every American'

Two prominent Republicans and two prominent Democrats wasted little time in demanding a bipartisan investigation into the CIA's claim that Russian hackers worked to throw the 2016 election Donald Trump's way, reports Politico. "Democrats and Republicans must work together, and across the jurisdictional lines of the Congress, to examine these recent incidents thoroughly and devise comprehensive solutions to deter and defend against further cyber-attacks," reads a statement put out by Sens. John McCain, Chuck Schumer, Lindsey Graham, and Jack Reed. "This cannot become a partisan issue. The stakes are too high for our country. We ... will seek to unify our colleagues around the goal of investigating and stopping the grave threats that cyberattacks conducted by foreign governments pose to our national security." They said the report "should alarm every American." President-elect Donald Trump has dismissed the CIA's claims.
