The Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins for the 10th straight time and took over the top spot in East tonight with a 4-2 win, reports the Associated Press. Alex Kovalev had two goals and an assist and Carey Price made 34 saves. The win moved the Canadiens one point ahead of the idle New Jersey Devils. In other NHL action:

Jason Spezza scored the goal-ahead goal in the second period to lift the Ottawa Senators to a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues. The goal was Spezza's 31st of the season.
The Pittsburgh Penguins moved into a tie for first place in the Atlantic Division with a 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist to lead Pittsburgh to its fourth win in five games.
