Penguins Keep Rolling Even Without Crosby

The Pittsburgh Penguins are not playing like a team that has been missing the best player in the NHL for the past eight games. With Sidney Crosby still nursing a high ankle sprain, Ryan Whitney scored two goals to lead the Penguins past the New York Islanders 4-3 last night, reports the Associated Press. The win moved Pittsburgh into a tie for first with Philadelphia in the Atlantic Division.

Kris Letang scored the game-winner for the Penguins, who have gained at least one point in four of the past five games, with 3:38 left. It was Whitney's third career two-goal game and fourth time in his career he has scored three points. Evgeni Malkin also had three assists for Pittsburgh. The Islanders have lost six in a row.
