(Shutterstock) A Florida shopping mall was evacuated on Tuesday for what very well could be a first: A man threw an unidentified substance into a LensCrafters ... and it later turned out to be some of his dead fiancee's ashes. NBC6 reports that the man was in the process of depositing her ashes in places that meant something to the couple; no word on why the LensCrafters at Sarasota's Westfield Southgate Mall made the list. The store's employees and mall shoppers were alarmed by the white substance (NBC6 also describes the unnamed man as "fleeing the area," which probably didn't help), and police and Hazmat crews ended up shutting down the mall for two hours. He won't face charges, but the mall and fire department may seek damages. Read These Next Locals are furious about the planned demolition of a landmark bridge.
