France Drops DSK Gang Rape Case

Dominique Strauss-Kahn is off the hook in a gang rape investigation after a French prosecutor dropped the matter. The investigation was canceled after a Belgian woman withdrew testimony fueling the case. She now tells the prosecutor she was consenting and that she won't press charges, CNN reports. "Given all these elements, the offense of rape could not be made, and the Lille prosecution decided to proceed no further with the case, on the ground of 'no offense,'" the prosecutor's office says. But the investigation into the related "Carlton affair"—involving DSK's alleged involvement in a prostitution ring—continues.
