Brits Want Wills, Not Charles

The British want the monarchy to skip a generation, passing over Charles to Prince William, Reuters reports. More than half of those polled preferred a King William to having his pop ascend the throne. Younger people were especially keen to see Wills crowned. A clear majority were in favor of keeping the monarchy.

William's romance with Kate Middleton seems to have helped his popularity, while opinions were split on Charles' second wife, Camilla. "The public seem reluctant to accept him as king," a royal expert  said of Prince Charles. "The damage to his image caused by the breakdown of his marriage to Diana seems irreparable."
