Auburn Shooting Suspect Surrenders

The man suspected of a triple murder near Alabama's Auburn University has surrendered to federal agents after a three-day manhunt. Desmonte Leonard, 22, has been charged with three counts of capital murder and two counts of assault in the shooting that left three people dead—including two former Auburn football players—and three people injured, ABC reports.

"You can run for only so long. It's a psychological thing," said Auburn's police chief. "I hope the pressure we put on helped him turn himself in." The chief believes Leonard's mother may have finally persuaded her son to surrender to authorities, reports the Birmingham News. Two people suspected of helping Leonard hide from police have been charged with hindering prosecution.
