The Phoenix Federal Public Defender’s office has suggested San Diego attorney Judy Clarke handle the case; she’ll join Loughner in court today and request to be his attorney as he faces five federal felony charges, reports the Arizona Republic. Meanwhile, police say Loughner isn’t cooperating with them: He has invoked his right to remain silent and has said “not a word” to investigators in the last 48 hours, ABC News reports.
