(AP) Jurors finished their first day of deliberations in the case of Steven J. Hayes, a parolee accused of sexually assaulting and murdering a Connecticut woman and her two daughters in a horrifically brutal home invasion, reports the New York Times. The jury did not reach a verdict before going home at 4:30pm. Jurors are considering 17 charges against Hayes stemming from the horrors at the home of William Petit Jr., including murder, kidnapping, sexual assault, burglary, and arson.
